The Goblin Fail!

In literacy we are focusing on writing a story with an unexpected twist. First we drew a picture of what we think will happen next. This is my story I hope you enjoy.

The Goblin Fail!

Cccrreakk! went the floorboard as the goblin crept silently towards the kitten. He didn’t dare move a muscle as he feared that he might start something that he couldn’t finish. He waited to see if the kitten would awaken, but it lay as still as a rock. A few more steps and he would be in reach of the cute marshmallow looking kitten...

As the wicked beast crept silently towards the kitten his heart raced like a cheetah in the jungle. He didn’t know what to expect. The kitten could be a secret spy or a ninja. The closer and closer he got the more terrified he got. At last he was in reach of the kitten.

Just when the goblin was about to sweep up the kitten it jumped into action. It frantically grabbed the goblins long bushy beard and dragged him out the door. As the kitten slammed the door shut he could hear the goblin screaming and whining to come back in, but the kitten doesn’t hesitate he goes straight back to dreaming about playing with his fluffy yarn balls.

What Does Success Mean To Me?

Recently we have been working on success and what it means. First we brainstormed on a white board of all of out ideas. Then we went onto a goggle drawing and said what success means to us because we are all different and have different opinions. This is what success means to me I hope you enjoy!

Goodbye Old School Hello New School

For literacy the past week we have been doing a Te Manu Tukutuku poem. In our poem we had to add our five senses. Our five senses are see, smell, hear, touch and what we feel like emotionally. We also had to add some similes and alliteration. This is my poem.

Goodbye Old School Hello New School

Then I felt trapped like a dog in a kennel, now I feel free like a bird soaring high through the sky.
Then I felt puzzled like a gorilla in a cage, now I feel welcome like a cat on a couch.

Then I heard the ringing of the bell like an obnoxious christmas tune , now I hear the song Happy by Pharrell Williams, such a better tune.

Then I saw Smiler Sam, now instead I see Wonder Weka.
Then I saw lots of grass like an overgrown jungle, now I see a scooter track… here come lots of trouble.

Then I smelt dust like an old abandoned house, now I smell the fresh smell like a growing daisy.

Then I felt the ground all bumpy like the mountains, now smooth and hard like a straight open road.

I feel so lucky to be at this magical magnificent marvelous school.

Day 7 Keeping New Zealand Beautiful

Day 7 Keeping New Zealand Beautiful
The challenging thing about today was what to say in my video.
The best bit about today was that I got to do the thing I love again, Travelling!

Love Flower

Love Flower
Recently Ponui O Toka have been working on logos. First we had to study on what a logo was. Then we did so doddle's in our project books for are personal logo but today we just went straight onto the design app and created what ever we wanted to!  Once we had made our design we had to make a quality blog post on our design. So this is my design. It is a Love Flower! You are probably wondering what is a love flower? I chose the name love flower because I made the petals out of love hearts. And I think that the love flower represents my love for my family! So this is my Love Flower I hope you enjoy!

Robotics

This term I have been doing Robotics every Tuesday afternoon. We had to learn how to program a robot to move. First we had to connect a special cord from the Mack book to the robot. Then we had to go onto a app on the Mack book and put in coordinates. Most of the time the coordinates didn't work so we had to go back and keep persisting. The robot was an EV3 Lego Mindset robot that we had to build as a group. The bit I found the most challenging was that we had to try and get the correct coordinate to be able to move on. The easiest bit was that my group knew what to do and when things went wrong. When we got onto the last maze on the second try my group succeeded. I love doing robotics it is awesome.

Day 6 Learning Journey

Native Aotearoa
Today I found my poem challenging because I wanted to make it good and make it rhyme but it was quite difficult.
My favourite activity was actually writing my poem because it improved my writing skills.
